Denoiser eliminates or reduces any noise below a threshold volume level. Denoiser uses Fast Fourier Transform FFT analysis to recognize frequency bands of lower volume and less complex harmonic structure. It then reduces these low-level, less complex bands to the appropriate dB level. If you use Denoiser too aggressively, however, the algorithm produces artifacts, which are usually less desirable than the existing noise. If using Denoiser produces these artifacts, you can use the three Smoothing knobs to reduce or eliminate them.

See Denoiser controls in Final Cut Pro. For information about adding the effect and showing its controls, see Add Logic effects to clips in Final Cut Pro. Locate a section of the audio where only noise is audible, and set the Threshold value so that only signals at or below this level are filtered out. Play the audio signal, and set the Reduce value to the point where noise reduction is optimal but little of the appropriate signal is reduced.

If you encounter artifacts, use the Smoothing controls.

To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question. I'm running Logic Pro X On both of them, I can't seem to find the speech enhancers, denoiser or groove shifter plugins - I think they're supposed to be under the "Specialized" menu, but all that's there is Exciter and SubBass. I may be missing other plugins as well. Any ideas as to how I should proceed?

Posted on Feb 6, AM. Hold down the Option key when clicking on the insert FX button in a strip and a new section will appear in the popup menu labelled Legacy You will find your 'missing' plugins there Note: Holding down Option and clicking on the Instrument button or the Channel Strip preset button will likewise reveal other options too to choose from Page content loaded.

Feb 6, AM. Are they deprecated now, then? Is there a better way of doing noise reduction in Logic that I'm missing? Not really sure I suspect so though however, given they are in the legacy section and 'hidden' away.

It may be, there will be future replacements for the specific ones you mentioned.. Similar to the new EQ's or Bass Amp stuff.. When you hold down Option and click on a channel strip button The selections there will replace the FX in a strip but not the instrument plugin itself Question: Q: Logic X More Less.
